Getting Through Winter with Seasonal Depression

Are you noticing a change in your mood as the temperatures drop and there is less light? 

Are you having a tough time sticking to your routines and doing things you usually enjoy? 

Do you just want to eat all of the sugar and comfort foods you can find? 

Are you feeling sluggish, like it’s time to go into hibernation for the next several months so you don’t have to see or talk to anyone? 

Does this seem to happen every year at this time, yet it feels totally unexpected every time?

Many people (especially in Wisconsin) experience these symptoms as part of seasonal affective disorder (SAD), or a milder version sometimes referred to as winter blues. This can make getting through the winter quite tough if you’re not a bear who can hibernate until May. If you would like to learn more about SAD click here

If you’re interested in learning about ways to deal with these symptoms and get through the winter with more ease, I invite you to join this 6-week group.

You will learn:

1. Strategies to recognize symptoms early on so you can work with them sooner and prevent them from getting worse. 

2. Skills to manage unhelpful thoughts that contribute to your mood.

3. Activities that can help increase your mood.

Then you will use what you have learned to develop a winter plan to help you stay on track the rest of the winter and remember what to do for future winters. 

Not only will you learn new strategies, you will be able to connect and learn from others who have similar winter struggles.

Who is this group for: Adults (18+) who struggle with seasonal depression. Note: if you have severe symptoms I may require you to be seeing an individual therapist while participating in the group.
