Move Through Difficulty With Peace

Mindfulness-Based Therapy in Wisconsin

Life can be really difficult!

Sometimes it can feel like we're wading though mud and muck that life keeps throwing at us.

Of course, there are beautiful parts of life, but difficulty always shows up, and sometimes it can seem like that’s all there is.

You’re in the right place if you've been feeling like you're stuck in the mud and muck of:

Stress and burnout as a parent, which might look like this:

  • Feeling irritable with everything, especially the people you live with.

  • Feeling exhausted and overwhelmed.

  • Reacting to people in your life, including your kids, in unhelpful ways.

  • Feeling like everything is a fight and nothing goes as planned.

  • Having a hard time dealing with life stressors while also being a parent.

  • Missing out on the joys in parenting and the rest of life.

  • Not having time for your own health and wellness.

  • Having guilt for not being "good enough" at all the things, including controlling how you feel.

Having stress and anxiety, which might look like this:

  • Living up in the head and not in the moment.

  • Getting caught in the "what ifs" and "if onlys".

  • Having an exhaustingly busy mind.

  • Planning everything to the smallest detail, having detailed plans B, C, and D (maybe more), and then replaying all these plans over and over in the mind to make sure you have thought of everything that needs to happen and everything that could go wrong.

  • Having analysis paralysis, where you overanalyze or overthink problems or plans and then are unable to make a decision about what to do or put a plan into action.

  • Feeling like the body is full of tension all the time.

These experiences can be so painful!

I see that pain, and want to help you. While I can't stop the world from throwing mud and muck at you, I can help you learn ways to move through these difficulties without it sucking you down into a deep, muddy pit, and to help you rise above that mud where you can see the beautiful parts of life more clearly.

"Just like the lotus, we too have the ability to rise from the mud, bloom out of the darkness, and radiate into the world." – Unknown

Hi, I'm Lacey Schmidt!

I’m a clinical psychologist, a certified mindfulness and meditation teacher, and fellow human being.

My training in mindfulness and meditation greatly influences my work with clients. My own experience with mindfulness practice and how it can be invaluable to get through tough times, led me to become a certified mindfulness and meditation teacher so that I can teach others these transformative skills in the context of therapy. I find that because difficulty is an inevitable part of life, we can use mindfulness as a superpower to help us navigate all the twists and turns that it throws at us, and to connect more with the beautiful parts of life.

If you would like to start this work so you can live more peacefully, despite what life throws at you, I invite you to schedule a free 15-minute consultation call to find out how I can help.
